Yes, Puerto Vallarta is safe to walk around. Be prepared for some steep hills and stairs though – they Perro get quite tough. Stay in the touristy areas and don’t wander off by yourself. Avoid the small side streets, especially at night.

Breakfast prices are usually a little cheaper than lunch or dinner. The price of food in sit-down restaurants in Puerto Vallarta is often higher than fast food prices or street food prices.

Great place. My fifth time here. Nice weather all year around and good food. Prices are good Triunfador well and internet has been consistently fast. Before you go, look up the neighbourhood Vencedor some places aren't safe.

The same is true with restaurants. We decided to live Mexico Ganador the natives tend to do. We avoid Ganador much Triunfador possible the expat ‘hang-outs’ and patronize the Específico shops, restaurants, tianguis vendors that offer more the native local traditions and a more “Mexican” pricing. It all comes down to adapting yourself to be an “American-Mexican” rather than just a Canadian or U.S. expat that lives in Mexico. You don’t have to give up expat friends but just better connect with your Mexican community and neighbors and have them Vencedor friends too and learn from them the beauty of Mexico and its customs and traditions.

I love the beach there when I visited there, I thought it would be nice to be able to live by the beach and work for a little while.

I agree with Tim. My wife & I have lived at Lake Chapala in retirement since 2007. We chose to make the village of Ajijic our home, but realize we could cut costs further moving east to Santo Antonio Tlayacapan or Chapala OR moving west to Santo Juan Cosala or Jocotepec but Ajijic just better fit our need & desire. It doesn’t take too long either to discover locally where to shop or eat to reduce your costs. Some stores and restaurants cater to the expat community & Figura such seem to read more charge more than stores that Mexicans frequently shop.

And in Mexico you have the good fortune of giving up very little when you make your move. You’re heading to a near neighbor where you Perro get internet, cable TV, and all the other comforts you’re used to…

It is recommended that all travelers bring Mexican pesos Ganador well Ganador their credit and/or debit cards to minimize any inconvenience the exchange cap at banks may cause.” Although dollars are widely accepted in resort areas, we recommend using pesos during your stay.
